BOTOX & FILLERS
Botox is the
most popular cosmetic medical treatment in the U.S., and is
a favorite among men and women looking for non-surgical
facial rejuvenation. Botox® has a long history in
ophthalmology and was first used for spastic eyelid
disorders in the 1980s.
It is still the most effective treatment available for
blepharospasm, and most ophthalmologists have many years of
experience in its use. Oculofacial plastic surgeons are
among the foremost specialists in use of Botox® for lines,
wrinkles, and facial reshaping. It has proven to be safe,
effective, and economical.
Facial fillers are also an enormously popular alternative in
non-surgical facial rejuvenation. They are sometimes
employed alone, but can also be an adjunct to Botox®. They
work by safely restoring lost volume under the skin thereby
effacing wrinkles and emptiness from aging, most commonly at
the lips and creases around the mouth. Recent advances in
technology have resulted in far more long-lasting and
natural improvements than ever before. .
MICRODERMABRASION
Microdermabrasion is a cosmetic technique that uses a
mechanical medium for exfoliation to remove the outermost
layer of dead skin cells from the epidermis.
Microdermabrasion may be performed to decrease the
appearance of superficial hyperpigmentation, and
photo-damage, as well as diminish fine lines, wrinkles, and
shallow acne scars. Removing the dead skin will aid in the
penetration of skin care products by up to 50% and make-up
will go on much more smoothly.
MESOTHERAPY
Mesotherapy is
a procedure used for weight loss and body sculpting to
reduce, eliminate and contour specific undesired fat
pockets. This method targets the receptors on fat cells that
produce lipogenesis (fat production) and lipolysis (fat
breakdown). Receptors that break down fat are known as beta
receptors; those that create fat are alpha receptors. Alpha
receptors are stimulated to produce fat when you ingest food
containing carbohydrates, fat, amino acids, hormones or
alcohol.
In both men and
women, the ratio of alpha to beta receptors is generally 1:1
- above the waist. Below the waist, women have approximately
6 to 8 alpha receptors for every single beta receptor. This
is the main reason women have trouble losing fat in their
abdomens, buttocks and thighs: their bodies are designed to
retain fat in those areas.
FRAXEL LASER SKIN RESURFACING
Fraxel
treatment is a revolutionary laser treatment that helps you
remove years from your appearance and regain a more youthful
look. Whether you have sun damage, wrinkles or other signs
of age, Fraxel treatment delivers remarkable results with
fast recovery. So you can quickly return to work or other
activities with renewed skin and renewed confidence.
The range of Fraxel treatments vary in aggressiveness,
downtime, number of procedures needed and results. The most
aggressive treatment, Fraxel re:pair, can produce dramatic
improvement for severely damaged skin. This is a single
treatment procedure, but will require more downtime and
after treatment wound care. Less aggressive treatments, like
Fraxel re:store or Fraxel re:fine, can produce significant
results for mild to moderately damaged skin over the course
of 3 to 6 treatments. Typically, there is no after treatment
wound care with these treatments and downtime is minimal.
When considering which treatment option is best for you, you
and your physician should discuss the trade-off between
downtime and results to determine the best option that fits
your skin condition and your lifestyle.
